“I cried every night as I nursed my baby girl…”

1

“I never knew what a bond between a mother and child was until I had my first born at 27. I was so excited because we had been trying for so long. To hold your child, stare into their eyes, breathe their breath, kiss their skin, to nurture and love them unconditionally – creating such life is a bond in its own. But I fell in to a little post partum depression. It brought up all those old feelings. Feelings of deep pain thinking how a mother could give up her child. I cried every night as I nursed my baby girl. I’d stare at her beautiful face. Her closed trusting eyes. I would caress her soft skin and listen to the little noises she made while nurisng. It was such a beautiful moment, why? Just why? Why would you leave me?”
