“Motherhood has changed me for the better…”

1

“My body was always very athletic as I was growing up. I was taller than the boys until high school. I played baseball with them until they told me I had to wear a cup as a catcher. Softball it was after that. Volleyball. Basketball. I didn’t feel feminine most of my adolescent life. I hated dresses. I loved sneakers. I’ve always cursed like a construction worker. When I met my husband after a very tumultuous relationship, I changed. He made me feel beautiful no matter what I wore or how vulgar the language I used. I started to actually view myself as beautiful rather than one of the boys. I have friends I’ve reconnected with that can’t believe I’m the same person. Motherhood has changed me for the better in so many ways. As simple as it might seems to some, I feel like this is what I was born to do. It’s the most unexpectedly wonderful feeling.”
