“Deciding to get my full sleeve tattoo was a big decision. I am a teacher, so I knew that I was going to have to keep it covered for work. I already had my leg piece, so that meant long pants and long sleeved shirts all day, every day. There are days where it isn’t easy standing outside for recess or car loop in the hot Florida temperatures, but I don’t regret a thing. I understand and respect that tattoos are not accepted by many people, especially on professionals. I tend to keep them covered even when I am not at work in case I run into any of my students and their families. I am proud of my tattoos, but I am also fearful of the judgment that may come along with them.”
